I have the Runway Framework installed and created a blank child theme. I also have the layout manager downloaded. When I go to Runway > Add-Ons in the backend, though, there is no option to install one. Instead of an install button for Layout Manager, all I see is a details button.
To upload an extension, go to “Runway > Extensions” and at the top you will see the button “Upload New”. This is where you can upload the ZIP file for the Layout Manager from the Runway admin.
Like plugins, the extensions can also be installed by copying the files directly to your server. To do this, copy the main Layout Manager folder to “runway-framework/extensions” and it will be detected automatically. Once it is copied there, you can enable it from the Extensions screen, “Runway > Extensions”
I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Yes, the Layout Manager will work with the Bootstrap Starter. Once it’s installed you can create and apply layouts. If you wanted to build custom options from the Layout Manager into the theme that’s also easy to do for even more custom functionality on a per page/post level by assigning custom layouts to any area.
Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I got sick during the Christmas break and forgot to ask someone to check the forums for me! Hope the delay didn’t cause you any problems. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!
Thank you for being a part of Runway. We hope you have a great experience and together we can make Runway one of the best additions to the WordPress ecosystem and theme development. We're excited to have you here!
