Hi Guys, I’ve got the GoExplore theme and I’d love to make it compatible with Layout Manager. I installed GoExplore as a child as well as the Runway Framework. I was also able to install the Layout Manager Extension through Runway, but when I try to use it; I don’t see any layouts available under my page attributes; only the default GoExplore ones.
The Layout Manager is a very specific tool that requires the theme to be designed to use it from the start. It integrates so much with the actual design that it’s very difficult to add to an existing theme. If you’re an experienced designer or front end developer you might be able to do it. This is not at all like a drag and drop page builder. It’s not changing content, but rather the structure of the theme from the header, content, sidebars, footers and more.
Even if you create a layout and select/assign it to a page, it will not be used. The theme must have significant code changes to apply the layouts.
Thank you for being a part of Runway. We hope you have a great experience and together we can make Runway one of the best additions to the WordPress ecosystem and theme development. We're excited to have you here!
